The Sunshine
Uplifting The Western Slope
2017 August/September
Pg 2 - The Sunshine Express
Love, Reign O¡¯er Me...
¡°Only love,
Can bring the rain,
That makes you yearn to the sky.
Only love,
Can bring the rain,
That falls like tears from on high.¡±
On the dry and dusty road, we hear alot of talk about the hot, dry weather. It¡¯s like
this every year. Temperatures rising, water¡¯s getting scarcer, fireworks and campfire
bans become the norm, relatives calling from afar concerned about news of fire, and
panic tries to take hold. And then it rains.
Usually in July or just before August. And usually, at least here on the western slope,
it is accompanied by wind and thunder and lightning. Thus marks the beginning of the
Colorado Monsoon season. Stick around awhile, you¡¯ll see. The thing to remember,
despite the daily bad news bears¡¯ howling, is that it will rain.
How do we know this? We know this because the great spirit creator, which is Love,
loves us. How do we know that he loves us all, great and small? Precisely because the
rains fall.
¡°He(Love) has shown his kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their
seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.¡±(acts 14:17)
Love is the great creator. Love made the rain.
Love sends it to us in it¡¯s season, every year, without fail. As this magnificent sym-
phony of a song by The Who clearly says, ¡°Only Love can make it rain.¡± Let Love reign.
Indeed. - KD

Welcome to the 2017 August/September edition of The Sunshine Express! We are
glad that you are here. Yes the cooling rains have begun, signaling that Summer will be
soon transitioniong into Autumn. The parched ground is soaking it up and everything is
getting greener and best of all the nights are much cooler, making for nice sleep or even
some fantastic late night fishing. Whatever you desire, it is a wonderful time of year to
take in some events and/or find your outdoor adventure, before the seasons change.
And change it will as September rolls in and the leaves begin to go gold. The Autumn
Equinox is on September 22. There is a rare full eclipse of the sun on August 21 that will
be visible to most of us, especially the closer you are to Wyoming. The Perseids meteor
shower is ramping up right now with a new moon to make for a night time delights.
Ok, that is about it for now. Enjoy the abundant good news and events that we have
assembled for you inside these pages and please mention to our advertising sponsors
that you saw them in The Sunshine Express. Have a fun and most excellent August and
September and always know that you are loved! - KingDaddy

The silverhawk feather that graces our front page was chosen for it¡¯s significant spiritual
symbolism. Hawks are symbols of spirit, wisdom and power. The hawk is the messenger.
It is also about visionary power and guardianship, the hawk is very protective of the young
in its nest. It teaches us about providing for family and self. Hawk teaches us to be obser-
vant and to pay attention to what we may overlook. This could mean a talent we don¡¯t use,
a blessing for which we haven¡¯t expressed gratitude, or a message from Spirit. The hawk
has keen eyesight, it is about opening our eyes and seeing that which is there to guide us.
Hawk is also about new beginnings and always moving forward along the correct path.
