-4th of July Fireworks, Sat, July 4, will launch from
Greenmount Cemetery at 9:15p, led by a new inter-
nationally renowned fireworks company, The city asks
that everyone remember social distancing measures
during this event and is hopeful that the 4th of July
fireworks display will continue on in 2020 despite
other 4th of July festivities being cancelled, The city
will monitor drought conditions and if any changes
are made they will be made in the weeks preceding,

-Ska/Zia Town Series Bike Race, Sat, July 11, Purga-
tory Resort, 9-10:30a: Rider check-in front of the
Ticket Office; 10-11:30a: Practice; Noon: Race, beer
festival all afternoon, race will use Pirate and Divinity
trails, 1 Skier Place, Durango
-Summer Brew, Sat, July 11, join us for a fun day
sampling great summer beers at Purgatory Resort¡¯s
summer beer festival, featuring all your favorite cold,
refreshing, summertime beers, Bring your friends
and a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a great sum-
mer day on the mountain sipping away the afternoon,
Tickets On sale, only 300 tickets available, $18/ad-
vance, $25/gate Admission includes commemorative
tasting glass & UNLIMITED samples of all the beers,

-Mountain Archery Festival, July 17-19, All welcome
at the Mountain Archery Festival, Purgatory Ski Re-
sort, 3 days of fun and competitions featuring 150+
Kirsch 3-D archery targets, registration includes chair
lift access and competition access across various
courses, outdoor films, vendors, music and prizes, 1
Skier Place, Durango
-Kennebec Mountain Run, Sat, July 25, a tough, sce-
nic 15-mile trail run through the La Plata Mountains,
just west of Durango, KMR is a perfect tune-up for
the Imogene Pass Run and a wonderful introduction
to the La Platas, Proceeds benefit La Plata County
Search & Rescue, La Plata Canyon, County Road 124,

Town council has made the difficult decision to cancel
this year¡¯s Flight Days Celebration and our July 4th
Fireworks presentation
--DYNAFIT Summer Solstice Trail Run, Benefit-
ing the Vail Valley Charitable Fund, June 20, RACE
SCHEDULE: 8:30a - Kids Fun Run; 9a - 10k race
start(series event); 9:15a - 5k race start(5k-series
event), Meadow Mountain in Minturn, Race begins at
Minturn Ranger Station, 24747 US Highway 24, NEW
venue, ascend technical singletrack on the beautiful
West Grouse Trail with multiple stream crossings and
fields of blossoming wildflowers, at high point nearly
half-way through 10k race runners begin descent
to the finish on double track with open views of Vail
Mountain and the Gore Range, 5k runners enjoy a 1.5
mile double track ascent through mountain meadows
and past old homesteads before making a u-turn and
quickly descending to the finish line, register online,

benefiting the Vail Valley Charitable Fund,
a 500-yard swim (10 laps) in the outdoor
Eagle Pool, followed by a 12-mile bike loop
from the pool up scenic Brush Creek Road
to Adams Rib, third leg features a run
from the pool down the bike path to Eagle
Ranch Road connecting to the Eagle Ranch
bike path and back to the Eagle pool for
the finish, a great course for 1st-timers
